Damion Scarcella is an Australian-born singer and performer who has made a significant mark on the international stage. Having originally trained in classical voice at the Melba Conservatorium in Melbourne, he then took the side step into Musical Theatre, training at the Dance Factory and going on to perform in the original Australian productions of Fame; Shout (for which he received a Green Room Award nomination); Mamma Mia; and Leader of the Pack.
He relocated to London in 2005 and went on to appear in stage productions such as Zorro (UK Tour), The Mikado (Union Theatre), Spirit of the Dance; Puttin’ on the Ritz (Australia Tour), New Jersey Nights (UK and China Tours), Christmas on Ice (Fallsview Casino, Canada), Three Steps to Heaven; Disco Inferno (UK tours), and Big Girls Don’t Cry (UK and International Tours). Additionally, he was invited to join various UK vocal groups. These included The Flying Pickets (best known for their number one hit "Only You"), touring prestigious venues and festivals across Europe and singing on the albums Big Mouth and Only Yule; the a cappella group The Magnets - performing at renowned events such as the Edinburgh Festival, Adelaide Festival, the UK ARIA Awards, and touring major arenas with Young Voices Concerts, including a run at London’s O2 Arena; and The Flyboys a four-part swing harmony group blending vintage and modern music, touring the UK and performing as the guest headline act for various Cruise Liners.
His reputation as a sought after vocalist was further concreted when he was invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall alongside Broadway legend Kristin Chenoweth.
Damion has also showcased his creativity by developing, writing, and performing, his own shows. Most notable among these are The Bowlly Years - exploring the life of 1930s singer Al Bowlly which premiered in London’s West End at the Jermyn Street Theatre; and The Sedaka Songbook, which delved into the iconic writing partnership of Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield, premiering at London’s renowned cabaret venue Crazy Coqs, and then touring across the UK and Australia.
In 2024, U.K. audiences have seen Damion performing in sold-out UK tours of 'The Best of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons,' featuring Pop Idol finalist Gareth Gates, as well as in 'Musicals: The Ultimate Live Band Sing-Along' and the most recently ‘Step into Christmas’ .
